Kamilah Henderson, LLMSW, IMH-E®

Hello, my name is Kamilah. I am a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work and have recently completed core training in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. I also am a breastfeeding peer educator.

For the last five years I have worked in early childhood social emotional learning environments, empowering teachers and caregivers to build close and lasting relationships with infant, toddler and preschool children.

My passion is coping and regulation skills for young children and their caregivers, with special attention to the cultural factors that impact their worlds. Making the decision to enter into a therapeutic relationship is complex, so I bring a spirit of warmth, calm and hope to support families in their healing journeys. My approach to therapy is relationship centered and reflective.

My happy place is a local park with my family, for a hike and hot chocolate. When cooler temperatures set in and winter holidays are here, my heart feels light.

I am so very excited and grateful to bring what I have learned as a parent and social emotional learning professional to the therapeutic setting, and look forward to creating a safe holding and healing space for your family.
