Leina Filipczak, LMSW, IMH-E®, PMH-C
Hello! My name is Leina, and I’m glad you are here. Looking for a therapist is a big step, let me tell you a little bit about myself & my experience to see if I am a good fit for you!
As a professional I’ve worked with diverse populations, including adults & children with developmental disabilities, pregnant and parenting women, families with young children, & women in recovery from substance use disorder. In my work with individuals and families I have found one thing that is constant…the need for human connection.
Feeling disconnected & lost was part of my personal journey in early parenthood, which is why I am passionate about perinatal & infant mental health therapy. I believe that new relationships, especially those with our young children, provide hope for lasting change and growth.
I most enjoy working with new parents or parents-to-be, to work through challenges that could disrupt the development of secure attachment. My professional & lived experience allows me to show up for you with empathy, compassion, and with authenticity. I strive to practice cultural humility and curiosity rather than judgement.
Your treatment should be unique to you & your family, so I will use a strength-based & trauma-informed approach to collaborate with you in order to provide treatment that fits your needs. My primary goal as your therapist is to hold a safe space for you to feel and to heal.
When I’m not wearing my therapist hat, I can usually be found playing outdoors, laughing on the phone with a loved one, or driving my husband and kids crazy with my terrible singing and equally bad dance moves. My favorite things are yarn & knitting needles, piles of unread books, & moose tracks ice cream.
Brene Brown says, “If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.” I would be truly honored to hear your story and be a part of your journey toward wellness.
